After calling it quits with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon started dating Jim Toth, an agent with Creative Artists Agency, a prominent entertainment and sports agency where Reese is a client.

On Tuesday, December 28, Reese's rep announced that Reese and Jim are engaged.

This will be Reese's second marriage. She has two children (Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7) with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

No wedding date has been announced.

Heather Locklear's rep has confirmed that she was recently checked into a hospital for a bacterial infection after returning from filming "He Loves Me" in Canada.

The former "Melrose Place" star has been put on antibiotics and is now doing fine. She is expected to be released sometime today.

Eliza will play the estranged daughter of a New York City Cop. She eventually follows her dad into police work, and ends up working with him.

Miley Cyrus turns 18 today!

The singer and actress celebrated her 18th birthday early on Monday night at Trousdale, a nightclub in Hollywood.

Joining Miley at her birthday bash were her new boyfriend (some douche actor from Canada), Tish (Miley's mom), Demi Moore (who plays her mom in Miley's upcoming movie, LOL), and Rumer Willis (Demi's daughter).

A little more than three years after a storybook wedding in France, Eva Longoria has filed for divorce from NBA star Tony Parker.

The divorce comes as no surprise to us for many reasons. Eva is seven years older than Tony. They have no children together. There have been rumors recently that Tony was fooling around on Eva. And it was reported yesterday (and denied by Eva's reps) that Tony had filed for divorce in Texas (Eva filed in California).

Update: They're not divorcing after all. All of us in the entertainment media got all worked up for nothing...

Update #2: Now we're hearing that Tony Parker was cheating on Eva with his teammate Brent Barry's wife, Erin Barry. The Barrys are (also?) getting a divorce.

Jessica Alba has pissed off a lot of screenwriters in a recent interview.

In this December's Elle, which features Jessica Alba on the cover, the Sin City star said:

Good actors, never use the script unless it's amazing writing. All the good actors I've worked with, they all say whatever they want to say.

She's just saying what she observed. She said nothing about the non-dialogue parts of the scripts, which the screenwriters also write. We think the screenwriters are just being too sensitive.

For the second year in a row, Dakota Fanning was crowned the homecoming queen at her private high school, Campbell Hall, in North Hollywood, California.

It's nice to see the Twilight star not having a fucked up childhood. We think her parents are to be credited. We don't know their names, and that's the point. Let this be a lesson to Dina Lohan, Michael Lohan, and all parents of child stars. If we know your names, then you're doing something wrong. You're not the stars (we're staring at you Dina), go away.

Anyway, congrats to Dakota, she looks like she could go the Emma Watson route and go on to college and be normal.

Miley Cyrus's folks, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, are calling it quits after 17 years of marriage.

It's been a huge year in terms of changes for Miley. First, she wrapped up her long and successful TV show, Hannah Montana. Second, she changed her kid-friendly image to a racier, more adult-friendly image. Now her parents divorces and in less than four weeks, she will turn eighteen.

Miley has been spending time with her mom, which we think means Tish was probably the one who was dumped. Wouldn't surprise us if Billy Ray shows up with a girlfriend soon.
